I’m Coach Mike

I’m proud to wear the title of coach, but let’s be honest. There are plenty of coaches out there. If what you want is encouragement or conversation, you have options. If what you want is to actually change how you operate in the world, not just talk about it, that’s where I come in. I’m a behavior change specialist.

For more than two decades, I’ve coached athletes across every level of sport, from youth development to the international stage. I hold a master’s degree in sport psychology. I’ve done the research. I’ve published the work. The credentials are there. But what truly taught me how people change didn’t come from a résumé.

It came from my own life.

I grew up in chaos. Swimming quite literally saved me. It gave me structure when nothing else was stable and showed me, early on, that discipline and consistency can change a person’s trajectory. Years later, I had to learn a more brutal lesson. Real performance is not about pushing harder or holding it together at all costs. It’s about rebuilding from the inside out and learning how to live in a way that is both strong and sustainable.

That’s where Axiom Performance Coaching comes from.

This work isn’t built on hype, optimization culture, or borrowed language. It’s built on lived experience, applied psychology, and a clear understanding of how behavior actually changes under real-world conditions. Physical, mental, emotional. All of it matters, and none of it works in isolation.

This isn’t for people who want to talk about change.

It’s for people who are ready to take responsibility for it and do the work with honesty and consistency.

If that’s you, you can start here with the Axiom Performance Diagnostic.
